Are themed inflatables worth the extra cost?

I'm looking at adding a new unit and I'm torn between a standard, generic castle bounce house and a more expensive themed one (like a princess castle or a dragon). The themed ones are definitely more eye-catching, but they cost significantly more. For those of you who own themed units, do you find they rent out more often or at a higher price point to justify the investment? Or do parents just care about the bouncy fun and not the theme?

In my experience, themed units are absolutely worth it for specific demographics. A princess castle or a popular character theme can be a major differentiator and commands a premium price, especially for birthday parties. They also photograph better, which is great for social media marketing. However, they can be harder to re-sell later compared to generic units. My advice is to start with one or two popular themes for your target age group (e.g., unicorns for girls, dinosaurs for boys) and see how they perform. For a great analysis of which themes are currently trending and which offer the best ROI, take a look at the market insights on https://gotinflatables.com. Their data on rental performance is really helpful.
